- "It seems when we're broken, we just start again" - Start Again was written by Zappacosta when he was 18 years old. It became a staple on Canadian radio and now in 2012 is still one of the most requested songs during his live performances.
Without a doubt, one of the greatest artists of all time!
Still outstanding. First time I saw him was at the Copa in Toronto, late 80s. Blown away
I remember sneaking into a concert at the U of C's MacHall in 1987, underage at 17, with my besties and her older brother, what a fabulous time to be alive!
So underrated, should have been an international superstar but selfishly I’m kind of glad he’s all ours. ❤
I agree wholeheartedly 👏 this man is outstanding and so underrated, the Surrender album and EP 👏👌
I listened to Alfie in Italy, England, i missed him in Amsterdam, Germany, Switzerland, I missed him in Belgium.
Mr. Zappacozta is Worldly! So, my friend...I don't know what you're saying???
I can only confirm. I m pleased
I have no idea why this band wasn't on top of the world
Marvelous, thank you.
Give this man a Grammy Award induct him in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

What a performer
What a voice
This is " REAL " music kids
Just Beautiful....I feel the same way....never really got the recognition that he deserved...a Brilliant songwriter and Performer.
Still just amazing. Worked with Alfie in Toronto for a while in the early 80s. Also his drummer in Surrender Paul Delaney and lighting guy Brad Campaign (now sadly deceased). Miss those days. ALL of Alfie's music was the theme of my 80s driving around Toronto in my Jeep. Miss those days.
I hear you loud and clear. Alfie’s music played a big part of my life and one of my music favourites in the 80’s. I too miss those days. Have moments wishing that was possible. I had a 1986 Camaro IROC with Alfie blasting! Lots of great memories.
@@nerraD14 omg what a trip back! Camaro is my favourite vehicle. Would be so COOL blasting Alfie while driving around in sweet wheels like that!
One of the most underrated Canadian artists.
A marvellous talent
Remarkable passionate vocalist.
Thank you for sharing your amazing talent Alphie.
Cheers.
I completely agree!
I agree!
100 % agree, remarkable vocalist
Really brings back memories of my younger days. He has a charisma that shows in his music. Keep on,keeping on. Love your music!
Awesome song. What a wonderful voice and your band is very tight. Great job
This is my favourite rendition of this classic song. Beautiful and soulful.

Incredible!
Zapacosta
Alfie, your voice has no equal and this song is so insightful for you to have written at such a young age. Thank you
Such an excellent song I can listen to it a hundred times, reminds me of when I ran into a friend on the street.
He could have been huge but he didn't want to sell out and put out music he didn't love. I saw him at an Italian restaurant last week. We were disappointed he didn't play very many hits from the 80's but he explained why
Great Canadian Talent
Great tune. One of the great Canadian voices, song writer.Actor.
Such a Gem!
Again under rated by whom ever. Enough! This is heart, mind and spirit! Thank you for plumbing my soul. To remind us, the heart is so unknown except in Alfie's songs. Reminds us to be sensitive and kind to each others heart.
Love this song. wish I could find the studio version of it.
30 years. God, where has my life gone....

Loved him at the time but in retrospect, staggeringly talented.
Such a beautiful voice. Alfie has awesome stage presence 😊.
Forgot how much I love this song! A very poetic, story telling style!
A newbie to Alfie Zappacosta. An all around entertainer. Thank you Alfie.
Saw him in Huntsville, he was sick and still sang his heart out, met him and had a chat. Been in love with him since the 80's
I love this guy...Alphie has been a big part in my growing up...never forget him
I keep coming back to a few Canadian artists that meant the 80s to me and have never left my soul. Of course Paul Janz and Alfie Zappacosta who I managed to speak to at the Misty Moon on Barrington st. in Halifax somewhere near 1990. Hard to believe that was 34 years ago. Are these 2 guys in the Canadian music hall of fame? They sure as hell should be.
most talented artist around
I keep this song in my library section, with my other favourites, thank you.
These songs were a big part of my life.
Alfie is the best Canadian vocal artist in my mind. I will always be his #1 fan.
You are amazingly talented Alfie !! So glad to have found you and your wonderful music....
The one and only and he does still have it.

Well this takes me back to my youth & the fantastic Surrender & Zappacosta albums! What a performance, his voice has just got better with age & this is one of my favourite songs of his (there are many!). I'm from England so very fortunate to have discovered Alfie back in the 80's as only a few are even aware of him over here! Such emotion in his voice & such a fantastic songwriter, thanks again Alfie.

I would love to see Alfie Zappacosta in concert, he is in Sidney,BC tonight I just found out early this morning he is here, I wish I would’ve known sooner I would’ve gone see him, such a beautiful voice I have admired since the early 80’s..and love the episode he was in danger bay. Such a nice person would love to get his autograph and say hi to him...I will keep an eye out more on his schedule for concerts and if he is ever in Alberta for a concert once I am back living there I will definitely go see Zappacosta.
Good lord. I forgot about this one..2021
I met this guy in 79, I was 4 at my uncle robs and aunt Josie wedding, he was in Surrender at the time
As a voice teacher and a music love, I've always fan. I've actually used Alfie Zappacosta tracks while teaching so many times I couldn't even count. I guess good music and good work just never goes out of style.
He sounds amazing. Sounds as good, if not better, than the original. Saw him originally on cable 10 channel in Richmond Hill.
I saw you in Mount Stewart, PEI recently. Wow. You reminded me how much I loved your voice. Still do. Thank you.
It's an unofficial channel. The "you" you're addressing isn't him.
All time favourite

In the late 1980s this little fuck stick barged to the front of the movie theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia and belted out to my friend that worked there: "Do you know who I am?"
And he said, “Yes, Alfie Zappacosta.”
