I'm sorry but if I'm not mistaken, you are asking someone to justify why they like something you don't like.It's just preference. You don't like it, you don't like it. That's it. Doesn't mean you have a more refined taste than us (saying this because you seem to think that Gintama jokes are beneath you). Have fun with some other anime. Maybe, Gintama is not for you.

I advice you to not skip any of the comedic episode as they're the essence of gintama and if you ain't enjoying them gintama isnt for you and the serious arc gonna felt like they have no build up to them I suggest you to watch a battle shounen if youre looking for action cause gintama isnt a generic battle shounen

I mean I think people like the dumb comedy but I'm pretty sure everyone knows it delivers big on action and fight scenes. Anyone who didn't like it left their rating on season 1 and never watched again.

well it depends, it took me around 10 episodes to get fully invested into gintama. i found gintama during a time where it’s lessons really helped me get through things. there are deeper meaning to the show than what’s on the surface level, it’s one of the reasons i love it so much.

I also found it pretty boring at first and the jokes were not the best either (with some exception) but it gets better and better (both story and comedy-wise). I started getting invested around 50-smth eps and the first serious arc is not the best but it is pretty good. The humor is still not for everyone probably but it isn't just poop jokes and nose picking and stuff like that. Btw maybe you could watch some of the funniest comedy arcs to see if you like the humor. Do not watch only the serious arcs bc I don't think they would be enjoyable that way. You need to know the background stuff and care about the characters to truly enjoy them. Besides in my opinion Gintama truly shines in comedy still though it has some really good emotional and some really intense moments too.

Well if u think that u should complete all Gintama series you'll understand why it is on top 10 tho if u find it boring I guess it's coz it's hard to understand if you've watched less anime even I also thought that first when I started that except jokes it's simple but that's not case but not only me anyone who've watched Gintama would understand coz no one is stupid enough to say it's goated if it's trash,but in the end all that matters is that u enjoy.

Gintama is just amazing in my opinion. I think early Gintama is also some of the best Gintama throughout the series. I suggest you carry on because there are some 10/10 arcs that await

It gets better but there are always some bad episodes because gintama tries to get some time to open the gap between the anime and the manga and because of that, gintama has some of the best and funniest episodes of all time but also some of the worst and most boring episodes of all time. I think it's worth it because the comedy is good.

Can't judge a 400 episodes series by it's first 30. IK you probably have heard this lots of times, but Gintama gets good on some point. From episode 55~ onwards (benizakura arc) it becomes better, and each serious arc starting from there is better than the previous

Gintama was born as a comedy series which then acquired a strong action component. The action gradually increases in the series, without ever blurring the comedy. In Gintama there are no long arcs except at the end, but small arcs prevail (from 4 to 8 episodes, but also only 2 or 3). Each one reveals a piece of the protagonist's story. Among these arcs there are several single comic episodes.
It took me two years to finish it and I loved it, from the most vulgar jokes to the saddest moments. It is a long anime that you can alternate with other shorter ones and watch it calmly (you don't have to watch yourself 24 episodes to finish the arc). It requires patience and offers a lot of memorable moments, but if you really don't like its gags then forget it, because they are essential to bond with the characters.

I understand you but it really is a good anime. When I started watching Gintama I already knew I was going to like it but you have to be patient to watch it. Gintama has over 300 episodes and as they go on, it gets better and better. I have to admit that the first few episodes are not the best but Gintama is the best anime without a doubt.
